A visit with Mary Lawrence

We had our friend Mary Lawrence down from Oregon to see us during mid-September. As well as being a surrogate grandmother to the children and a dear dear friend to the family, she was also one of Brandon's professors at the University of Oregon School of Law.

Lots of fun was had by all. We dragged Mary to see the Golden Spike Historical Monument and the Spiral Jetty. We even had time to go out to eat.

Hayden's dance

It takes something like a formal dance to force Hayden to be serious, if only for an evening. I think he surprised himself, his parents and most of his friends when he asked Chelsea Womack, the senior class president, to Mtn. Crest's Homecoming dance. It's good he has a big sister to get him clean up for the big dance. He also has some adoring younger siblings. We'll try to post the actual pictures from the dance when they show up.

I'm not sure if the official dance photo raised eyebrows at Chelsea's house like it did at ours. Hayden assures us it was all innocent good fun.

The next American Idol.

Hayden and his buddy are prepping for next year's tryout for American Idol. They figure with Paula Abdul gone, they might have a chance.

More from Jordan Ensign.

You can all write letters to Mac computers to thank them for Photo Booth and the technology that brings us this high quality entertainment.

First day of school: August 2009

These are pictures of the kids on the first day of school. It was Alana's big initiation into Kindergarten. She has loved it from the get go. To be hones, I think all of the other kids are happy to be in school. (We'll see how long that lasts.)
